I’m sure you’ve seen all of the cute chalk drawing photos on Pinterest (if that’s a place you like to hang), where artists draw scenes in sidewalk chalk, and then take photos of people in those drawings. Super cute. I tried this one year, in an attempt to create cute Mother’s Day gifts for the grandma’s, and they turned out okay. Nothing spectacular. But I think my biggest issue was that my ladder didn’t reach the clouds, which is almost the height needed to get the right angle for these to be successful.
My friend, Teresa decided to make an adventure out of sidewalk chalk with her three darling girls this summer. And that, she did… WHOA BABY!
Teresa is one of my closest friends; she gets me. We both have
strange demented unique senses of humor, and we love hands-on projects. She has the most fun personality, the most sweet spirit, is one of the most beautiful women I know, and is just flat out a blast to be around.
But girl is shy. And I… am not.
When she started sending me photos of these chalk drawings she was doing on her cul-de-sac, I was floored. I knew that she had many crafty talents, but I had no idea how ridiculously talented Teresa was at drawing! She’s obviously been keeping things from me. These are seriously incredible.
And, she just happens to have a neighbor who has a cloud-reaching (not really, but almost) ladder, who was willing to lend it out. That and buckets of sidewalk chalk was all she needed to produce these chalk-scene photos. Well, and a willing neighborhood of subjects… who did a great job also!
I call this one The Secret Garden. Be still my heart!
(trivia fact: that’s my fave childhood book)
Who wouldn’t want to step into Super Mario Bros world?!
These are seriously out of this world! (sorry, had to)
Even Teresa’s hubby, Juan got in on the Spongebob action!
So stinking adorable! Are you kidding me?!
Teresa, you rock! I am blessed to call you friend, and your artwork… come on!
Oh, and I hope you don’t mind that I shared your mega talent with the world, hehe!
I’d love to see your own chalk scene photos! Find ideas on Pinterest, draw inspiration from your fave movie, or make up some of your own… have fun!
